Chandler's Pond, between Lake and Kenrick Streets in Brighton, is one of Brighton's most scenic green spaces. The man-made body of water, which lies in the Nonantum Valley, was originally excavated in 1855 for ice-making purposes and is now part of the City of Boston's Alice Gallagher Park.
Join Common Boston and Oak Square community members for a casual picnic lunch at the park to celebrate this urban wild and the CB SummerFest 2014. The entrance to the park is on Lake Shore Drive in Brighton; look for Common Boston signs directing you to the picnic spot. Please bring your own lunch; beverages and dessert will be provided.
