The dParty will begin with a special screening of the world-renown film The Human Scale at 6:30pm in WGBH's state-of-the-art Yawkey Theater. Directed by Andreas Dalsgaard, the film questions our assumptions about modern cities, exploring what happens when we use a people-centered approach as the focus of city design. For forty years Jan Gehl has systematically studied human behavior in cities: how human beings use the streets, how they walk, see, rest, meet, and interact.
Following the film screening, at 8:00pm, the dParty will kick into full gear with great music by DJ Brotherwayne, host of the popular "Waynesday" show on WMBR's "Lost and Found" (88.1FM broadcast from the MIT campus). You'll be taken on a musical exploration, past and present, rock, soul and funk and everything "in between."
All of this with art, food, drinks, dancing, conversations and more. What's not to love!
