Artwork along Miller’s River Littoral Way

June 18th  5:30 pm (45-minute tour)

Meet at the corner of Rutherford Avenue and Route 1 on-ramp

This public artwork illustrates rich local history. Walk along the Charles River’s north bank by cantilevered pedestrian walkway through a monochrome landscape of concrete piers that support the highway above. Visual artist Ross Miller explains how he integrates art into the urban landscape. Along the way, see historic harbor depths in this area (prior to landfill in the late 1800s) and other historical charts, maps and drawings etched on stainless-steel plates, and learn how this area was influenced in the late-19th and early-20th century by the Boston & Maine Railroad.
