Fenway Studios Tour
June 25th 11:00am – 12:30pm
30 Ipswich Street
Members of Fenway Studios, Mary Hughes and Bob Grady, lead tours through selected studios in the country’s oldest continuously functioning artists building, built in the Arts & Crafts style in 1905. Linked to the “Boston School” of painting, the studios today boast a wide range of artistic styles and several notable local artists. View studios designed specifically for artists, with 12-foot north-facing windows and 14-foot ceilings inspired by 19th-century Parisian atelier studios. Named a National Historic Landmark in 1998, preservation efforts are tirelessly pursued by the resident artists and the Friends of Fenway Studios, a nonprofit dedicated to restoration, awareness and promotion of this cultural treasure and the artists of Fenway Studios.
