Olmsted Park Tour
June 25th 11:00am – 12:00pm
Brookline Avenue and River Road, Brookline (ends near Jamaica Pond)
Olmsted Park, a picturesque link in Boston’s Emerald Necklace, contains the ponds and hidden springs that make up the headwaters of the Muddy River. The waterways, wooded enclaves and scenic vistas provide nature in the city along the edge of Mission Hill. Since Olmsted envisioned the park more than 100 years ago, however, some elements have changed to meet the needs of newer generations. Join landscape designer Sam Valentine to explore this park’s past, present, and future.
Olmsted Park is one of the wilder emerald necklace parks. Sturdy and/or closed toe walking shoes are recommended.
Registration is not required but highly recommended.
