One Weekend. Your City Unlocked.

Taking place June 3–5, 2016, the 2016 Common Boston festival was a great success. From civic spaces to sacred interiors to hidden infrastructure and everything in between, the festival weekend's "open house" format offers the public open access to significant spaces and places—many not open to the public, and all for free.

Check out just some of the events that happened at CB16 or download a PDF of our program.

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

dParty

dParty

On Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm was the annual event, the dParty! This fun and lively get together celebrates all things design and serves as a kickoff party for our open house festival weekend.

For the #CB16 dParty, we transformed a floor of the Innovation and Design Building—home to a dynamic mix of architecture and design firms, creative service studios, makerspaces, tech start-ups, and other innovative companies—into a fully realized block party. Guests enjoyed great harbor views, fantastic music, a parklet lounge, and the best dancing and conversation, all in the name of community-spirited fun
