You and everyone you know who lives/works/plays in the city of Boston are cordially invited to participate in Image Boston, a 10 week long, bi-weekly photo contest hosted by Common Boston.
The contest is open to anyone and everyone from aspiring (and actualized) photo journalists to amateurs.
Here's how it works: Every two weeks we'll put up a new contest subject inspired by the American Institute of Architects' 10 Principles for Livable Communities on our website, and every two weeks you can submit a new photograph (or photographs) to imageboston@commonboston.org.* We hope that you'll use this opportunity to explore how Boston's neighborhoods stack up against the AIA's 10 Principles, to think about what it is that makes the places we live great, and to show us your city through the lens of your camera.
The winning photograph will be used to make our next poster and will be displayed right here on our website, and all submissions will be posted in our submissions gallery on flickr, as well as highlighted* at events during our
Common Boston 07 festival June 8th-10th.
Participating is easy!
- Spread the word to anyone and everyone you know who might want to participate.
- Take a photo of a dynamic building, place, space, or thing that provides or encourages diversity in your community.
- Submit the photo by June 9 by sending it to imageboston@commonboston.org (subject line: Unique). Make sure to rename the file to include the name of neighborhood and the word nature (ex: unique_ashmont.jpg). Let us know in the body of the email how you heard about this contest.
- Come back to the imageboston page to check out the winner, and go to our page on
for a gallery of submitted entries. - And last but not least, check out other upcoming events!
